Our last baseball game is tonight. I’m sad that it’s over. I love little league baseball. T-ball is still going on. We’ve got a few more weeks of that.
At last night’s baseball practice, we had a Parents VS Kids game and it was a blast!

I’ve got laundry on the line waving in the breeze. It’s so peaceful to watch. There are no noisy buttons clanging in the dryer, just a soft breeze to dry my clothes today.
We will all fall asleep tonight on sun-dried sheets, Jackson will have bright white baseball pants for his game tomorrow, and with just enough breeze, I won’t have shirts to iron!
Not bad for a few minutes of hanging clothes out!
Can it get any better?

I was able to work 3 days last week and so far, 2 days this week. That’s a good thing when we are discussing the bank account. But when we are talking about t-ball practice, baseball practice, baseball games, laundry, helping with homework, cooking dinners, and we won’t even discuss home maintenance, it makes me wish there were more hours in the day. I guess it’s a good thing that I love subbing at Jackson’s school. There isn’t another job I’d rather do.
Yesterday was as full as one day could be, today will be also. Our day will end with a great activity. Jackson has a game at 6 tonight and he’ll be playing another Aubrey team. I like that it’s a home game and it will be nice to have familiar faces on the field.
If you’re out in the area, stop by and enjoy a small town baseball game. !

Football is long gone, basketball is over and baseball and t-ball have begun!
Jackson has already had his first baseball game and Eric has had one t-ball practice.
This year the youth sports association had an Opening Day Ceremony for the 8U and 10U boys, it was a day filled with loads of fun! After the boys ran the bases with their team, they had exhibition games!

It’s Super Bowl time again. We’ll be heading out to some friends house for an afternoon of friendship and games. I am making sugar cookies as I type….the dough is chillin’ in the fridge so I can roll it out! I’ll probably also make puppy chow, that is always a crowd pleaser and allows for left over cookies for our gracious hosts!
I’m really looking forward to getting together with friends. We haven’t all gotten together since the races in September. We ’see’ each other on face book, but that’s not the same as face to face!
I like watching my 3rd grader’s football games and can tolerate pro-football on T.V., but what I love about watching the Super Bowl is the commercials! I’ll get up and refill plates and drinks during the game, but I’m glued to the tube during the commercials.

For the past 2 weeks, the low tire pressure light has been on in my van. Brian and Daddy have both aired up my tire until Brian was able to pull the screw out and put a plug in. Well, Brian put a plug in the tire yesterday. He went out last night to make sure it held and double checked again before he left for work this morning. I drove the kids to school this morning with out any problems. I left at 11 for an appt and there sat my van with an extremely flat tire.
SO, we had new tires put on the van. They were all in pretty bad shape. Needless to say, we will be tightening the old purse strings again this week.
I hope your week is running a bit smoother!

It is so cold outside. The kids have been out of school for 2 days. The weather was supposed to get bad yesterday around noon, but that didn’t happen until the middle of the night. Needless to say we woke up to sheets of ice instead of roads.
It’s finally starting to warm up, the ice is melting and the boys will go to school tomorrow!
I just wish they would have been able to spend more time outside.

I saw this ‘tag game’ and thought it sounded really fun, so here I go!
And, in my defense, most of these songs are on my iPod to get me moving on the treadmill! Yes, I am a child of the ’80’s!
1. Put your music player of choice on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. Write the song name down.
4. Tag 5 friends.
5. Voila! Enjoy.

It’s basketball season again. Jackson’s got the same coaches as he did last year and we’re having another great season. He’s improved quite a bit from last year, but he still has a lot to learn. How can he be so aggressive with his brothers and so timid on the court? He is finally acting a bit aggressive during our practices. That’s a start, I guess.
We found out last week that Jackson is dyslexic. The school has a pretty good program, so hopefully we’ll be able to get him the help that he needs. I keep reminding him that this doesn’t give him an excuse not to do something, it just means that he may have to work harder than others. Then the third grade had a benchmark test in reading. Jackson only missed 2 questions and made a 94! He was so proud of himself, and so was I!!
Kiel’s school started basketball last week. We’re not sure when his first game is, but he’s enjoying the practices. I know he’s hungrier than usual on days they practice. And in case you are curious, a 13 year old boy is ALWAYS hungry. Even if he looks too thin!

I guess when you have to actually sign in to your own blog, it means it’s been a while since you’ve been to it!
It’s been a busy month. Brian was on vacation for 2 weeks around Christmas/New Years! That was fun. I had great plans for updating our home. None of which were accomplished because we had better things to do. Like FISH! There is a ‘kid fish’ pond at a state park about 30 minutes north of us that stocked 750 trout the Friday before Christmas. We like going there, we can take the dog and we don’t need a fishing license. BUT, the city just up the road from us stocked 2000 trout in a pond and you need a fishing license for that one. SO, we broke down and got Brian a license! The fish in the city pond are much bigger than in the state park pond, but the state park pond is much more peaceful! Years ago we used to drive up to Sherman, TX and fish for trout, I’m glad to have found a closer place. So if your in the mood for trout, we plan on having a fish fry. We’ve got about 50 in our freezer!
Eric turned 5 on 12/14. This year it was kinda quiet. Nana and Gran were both sick for his party
they were sad when they told me they couldn’t make it. I let them know it was OK and had them look at it from my point of view. They were really saving me $60 in co-pays!
Our Christmas was glorious. We spent time with family, we had perfect weather and way too much food! I got out of the habit of walking and have since found my way back. Slowly, but surely!
Our New Years was great. New Years Eve, Brian and I celebrated 15 years of marriage. We did something that we have never done. We went to a honky tonk. One of the local country stations was giving away free tickets for The Bellamy Brothers on NYE and Brian won them. So, we got a sitter, Brian’s mom and step-dad came out and watched the boys, invited another couple and hit the town! I have to admit I was a bit nervous. It’s been quite a long time since I’ve been in a dance club. Like back when I was just out of high school! I made it thru and ended up having a great time! Our friend that came with us, signed up to meet The Bellamy Brothers back stage and won! She and Brian met them, he was very excited. We should be getting pics soon. I’ll post them when I get them!
Last week was our first week back to our regularly scheduled life. It was sad, but nice to get back to a routine. Brian’s got the sinus crud that everyone has and is snoring something awful. Needless to say, I haven’t been sleeping too much. A few nights ago I decided to give in and sleep in Eric’s bed! He thinks that is pretty neat. He’s the one that comes to my room asking to sleep in my bed normally!
Jackson started basketball just before Thanksgiving and Kiel will start basketball next week. Eric has to wait until next year!
Happy 2009!
