March 2007

To a 3 year old.  Like……”Eric, Wanna hop on Momma’s bed?”  See, I was meaning, get on my bed and lay down, because I knew he was tired, and that I’d have a better chance of him staying down if he was on my bed.  To a 3 year old, that phrase is taken literally!

“Yes, Mom, Me want to hop on you bed!”

Yep, he hopped right up on my bed and kept hopping on my bed!  I finally coaxed him into a horizontal position and now he’s on his daddy’s pillow reading a book!!

I get to go on the field trip with Jackson on Friday!  Since Brian ended up having to work on Friday, I didn’t know what I was going to do!  I can’t bring Kiel and Eric.  Nana was supposed to be going with us, and Kiel can’t stay home with Eric for that long by himself!

So, now Nana has graciously offered to for go the field trip and stay home with Kiel and Eric.  I know they’ll have so much fun!

I went to Target today.  I was so looking forward to this trip.  I got a $25 gift card to Target for my b’day from Gran and Grandad.  I have been planning on spending it today for a while.  I knew Brian would be at work, Jackson would be in school and it would just be Kiel, Eric and me.  I envisioned myself walking through Target and finding the bestest clearance deal I’ve ever found.  Then when I got there, I realized that I only have 30 min before I had to be across town to pick up an order.  SO, I moseyed a bit, and got some things that I needed to get, but didn’t use my card.  I’m saving that to be selfish and get something just for me!!  It’s not selfish since it’s a b’day present, right?

Off to book club, which isn’t book club today, but field day!!  And it’s beautiful here.  The high is supposed to be 82*!!!  It’ll be good for the boys to just run in an open field!

I went out to the garden tonight to water.  I had started watering and just got busy and had to stop.  SO, I got to finish watering at 8:30!  Eric came out and said hi and told me to let him know when I want to come in.  I didn’t think anything of it and kept watering.  When I was finished, I sat on the porch with the cat.  All of a sudden there were a thousand June bugs swarming my head.  So, I told the cat that he was on his own and horridly went to the front door.  To my surprise I found it to be locked.  I rang the door bell and Eric finally came to the door and unlocked it.  As I was walking in, he asked  You ready to come in?

If you know my mother, than you know the horror she has instilled in Kari and me about June Bugs!

Yep, but it was for me this time!  I loaded up the kids and we went to Nana/Grandad’s for lunch today.  Aunt Kari and Uncle Kevin were there also.  Dinner was great and the cake was great also!  It wasn’t near as fattening as the oreo cookie cake was!

I was in the kitchen fixing dinner and Eric came in whining asking for milk.  Jackson tried to be helpful:

Eric ~ Mom, Me want milk

Me ~ Not now, I’m fixing dinner

Jackson ~ Eric, you should try chocolate milk.

Me ~ We don’t have any chocolate milk.

Eric ~ Mom, Me want choclat milk

Jackson ~ We can make it, Aunt Kari showed me how this is when he gets the chocolate syrup out of the fridge

Jackson ~ See mom?  All we have to do is stir this in the milk and we’ve got chocolate milk.  I learned how to make it at Aunt Kari’s.

Eric ~ MOM, Me want CHOCLAT milk.

We rarely have chocolate syrup here.  It’s just not something we get, unless we get it for a recipe or something like that.  I’ve really been liking those chocolate martinis, now those kids think they’re going to get my chocolate syrup!  I guess I can share!

Eric ~ Yes

Mom ~ This one?

Eric ~ Not that one, That one!

Mom ~ This one?

Eric ~ No, That one!

Mom ~ This one?

Eric ~ No, That one!

This went on for a few more times before I finally got the one all the way in the back.  Just in case you were curious what flavor he was wanting, it was strawberry.  AND, in case you were curious, they were all strawberry!!!

Jackson has spring break this week, which means Kiel hasn’t done any work this week either. They have been spending most of their time outside, just being boys!

They went across the street to the empty lot with the boy next door to play baseball. Since there were only 3 boys, someone had to be the umpire. Of course that would be the youngest of the 3, Jackson! You guessed it, he caught the ball, with his mouth!

I really didn’t know that lips could swell up this much!!!!

Jackson’s fat lip

While Brian and I were running the roads yesterday, we stopped at Home Depot and picked up some fertilizer.  While we were there, we went ahead and got some grass seed, just to see if maybe we could get some green in front of the house.  Right now it’s just dirt!!!  When we got home, Brian got the shovels and he and I started trying to break up the ground so we could put the seed down.  Our neighbor came over and we were talking, and he offered us the use of his tiller!  I was so excited.  While Brian was playing with the tiller, I asked our neighbor if he would mind if we used it on the side of the house.  He didn’t mind, so Brian got to till up the ground on the side of the house and we are going to have a garden again!  I’m so excited I can hardly type!  It’s not a big area at all, but it will be enough!  It’s about 4 X 20.  Brian thinks we can get 2 rows.  SO I will be going to the local nursery and getting veggie plants today!

I will also be baking some bread today and sending it over to the neighbor as a Thanks for letting us use his tiller!!

Jackson had his third and final party yesterday!  I can’t speak for anyone else in this family, but I’m about partied out!

We got home from the car wash about 9:30 and the party with PawPaw and MawMaw was supposed to be at 2.  Brian reminded me of all of the running we needed to do and let me know that a party at 2 would put a cramp in our time!  SO, we picked up Jackson early and just met Brian’s mom and stepdad in town for lunch!  After lunch Kiel and Jackson went to the park with PawPaw and mawMaw.  Brian and I went ahead and ran our errands and then we got the boys and came home.  Jackson got a toy motorcycle and some money for his birthday!!  He can’t wait to spend it!

Brian and I went to friends house Saturday night, with out kids!!  I’m not sure who was more excited, me or the boys!  Jackson got to spend the night with Aunt Kari and Uncle Kevin, and had a such a great time that he actually complained when I picked him up the next day!  Kiel and Eric got to spend the evening with Nana and Grandad.  Kiel was happy that he got to stay up past midnight!  Not sure if Nana was as happy!

I got to play poker!  I haven’t played very much and have been known to bet too much on bad hands!  Which is the main reason they like to play poker with me!! ;)   I did well this time.  I actually ended up with more chips than I started with!  That’s the point of the game, right?
