March 2008

029.jpgWe had 3 birthdays in March! The first 2 birthdays are a week apart. Gran’s is the 1st and Jackson’s is the 8th. Jackson’s was supposed to be on Feburary 29th. It’s been 8 years, you’d think I’d be over it by now!! ;) My Paternal Grandfather’s and my Maternal Great Grandfather’s birthday were both on Feburary 29th and I begged pleaded, cried, bargained, mowed the yard, drove to OKLAHOMA, etc.. for induction! My OBGYN didn’t think he was ready yet. Feb 29th was only 3 weeks early, Kiel was born(induced) 4 weeks early. Then 6 days later, she decided it was time to induce. COME ON……REALLY……6 DAYS???? I know everyday in the womb is crucial. I also know that I have 3 boys, Kiel was induced 4 weeks early and Eric was induced 5 weeks early. All that to say that this year Jackson would have had his Leap Year birthday and every other year, he’d been able to share his day with his Grandmother!

I am thankful for a healthy child and although I don’t show it all the time I do know that is all that is important. Especially after having lost 2 babies with in the 7 months before getting pregnant with Jackson!

With the basketball schedule, parties just didn’t happen like normal. They were kinda impromptu and short, but sweet :P We had one planned for a Friday night, but that got scratched due to an end of the season Basketball party. The coaches surprised the boys with a limo ride to and from a pizza/game room party! They were all speechless at first, then one of the kids informed the others that you don’t have to wear a seatbelt in a limo! It was like watching an adult win the lottery! And our poor head coach sat in the back with the boys on the way. On the way back, another coach figured out how to turn off the heater!!! After the boys had a chance, to empty the parents bank accounts, to play a few of the arcade games and eat pizza, we played Laser Tag! It was parents against the kids, Kiel played also and was on the parents’ team. Our vests had names on them and I was…..Wonder Woman!!! Yes, I’m that old, that I not only know who Wonder Woman is, but I loved watching her TV Show! I’ve never played Laser Tag before. That was so much fun! Granted $10 for 30 minutes is a bit pricey, but I can’t wait to play again!

I had the 3rd birthday in March. My birthday was Easter weekend this year! In the year 2285, Easter will fall on my birthday, March 22nd! I guess my great, great, etc grandkids will have to celebrate that one for me!! Hopefully I won’t still be around! If so I’ll be celebrating my 314th birthday. And I think I’m old now!!

My birthday was great. My day started with a grapefruit prepared for my by my 3 sons. Then I spent the day with Mom, SHOPPING!!! I even got to try on $150 dresses from the regular sizes! Of course I didn’t buy any, the real excitement for me was that most of them I was able to zip, well, have my Mom zip! After a great day of shopping, Brian, Chad, the boys and I went out for CRAWFISH

And now on to APRIL!

…..and kept on going like a Cheetah! This month has been very busy. We ended basketball and started baseball! Last night, Jackson let us know that he does have some power in his arm.

Broken Window by Jackson

He threw that ball right thru the living room window. I guess Brian needs to find a new place to sit, when he’s playing catch with the boys. Anyone out there know anybody who replaces windows? We’ve got it rigged for now. It’s true what they say about DUCT TAPE….

Stay tunned…there’s more to come….after a quick trip to Target to spend time and money and I don’t have enough of either one!

Look at these pictures!  Isn’t is pretty?  There were many more pictures that I wish I would have gotten, but we were having too much fun to stop and take pictures.  We drove past a few pastures and the scenery was jaw-dropping.  You could see so many shades of white with the dark contrast of the trees.  You’ll just have to picture it!
Eric and Dexter are taking in the white stuff.

Did you vote today?  Even though I’ve heard enough of/from the candidates, I cast my ballot today.  There were some interesting items on the ballot, not just presidential candidates.  Whether we vote the same or not, I do hope you voted.  Every voice eligible citizen needs to be heard!
