April 2008

That is how long it took the car hop at Sonic to bring out my ONE cup of coffee. Did she have to grow the beans?

I am trying to cut back on caffeine and have been buying one cup of coffee after I drop Jackson off at school. That way I don’t have the unlimited coffee cup at home.

This either proves that I really need to cut back on the caffeine or the car hop needs to add to her morning caffeine intake!

I’m normally an extremely understanding kind of gal. Just don’t mess with my coffee.

Yep, we went to the races again on Sunday! My Daddy got free tickets to the drag races and gave them to me! Brian and I took the older 2 boys and Eric got to spend the night with Nana and Grandad! Ennis is just up the road from us, so we loaded down with friends and picnic supplies early Sunday morning and hit the road!

I’ve been to the Fall Nationals and can’t wait to go again in September. This race was a bit on a smaller scale than the Nationals and gave Jackson an idea of what’s to come in September!

We watched a few brackets, walked thru the pits, watched a few more brackets, ate some funnel cake, walked a bit, watched the crazy guys motorcycles race and then, the last run we watched was the best part of the day. We watched the ‘classics’ race.

There were late ’60’s to early ’70’s Corvettes, Chevy IIs, Novas, Nomads, Camaros, and Chevelles. I was in HOG HEAVEN! The smell of the rubber and seeing the smoke pour out along with the sound of burn outs, that can make a girl weak in the knees!! It made me really miss that old ‘72 we had, granted the Jeep is lots of fun also! I think there were some Fords there, but they aren’t worth talking about. I don’t remember seeing a ‘67 Shelby or a 64.5 Mustang, those are the only Fords I’m interested in!

I did remember my camera, but you know, those digital cameras don’t work with out a memory card!! So, Haley took a few pics for us and when she sends them I’ll try to remember to put them up here!

Guess where Brian and I got to go this weekend?  The boys spent Saturday and Sunday with my parents.  They had loads of fun also.   Just in case you want to know who I was rootin’ for, look at this picture.  Don’t you just love the wings!!!  The rhinestones aren’t too shabby either!

I don’t really know that much about the racers. There were a few that didn’t win on Sunday that made me smile, and there was one in particular that didn’t win that made me sad. But that’s just good competition!  This is the best picture I was able to get of Jr.  They go by very fast!!!

I had so much fun!  There is talk about going in June.  The tickets were a bit pricey and we had the CHEAP SEATS!  I told Brian that next time we go, I’ll stay at the camp during the race and won’t need a ticket.  It was fun just going to the booths and getting free stuff and sitting at the camp site with friends.  5 of us came back with about 40 laps to go and started the grill for dinner!
